Chapter History

In March of '98, fourteen ladies of various backgrounds (ethnic and otherwise) came together and formed an interest group for Lambda Theta Alpha. Some joined because they were looking for something they could not quite find in any organization already on campus. Others joined simply out of curiosity. Whatever the reason, community service activities, fundraisers, and retreats provided everyone with the opportunity to bond and get to know each other better. Furthermore, these activities taught everyone important lessons about leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and interpersonal skills. Such interactions and learning more about the sorority soon made everyone firmly believe in the goals and principles set forth by Lambda Theta Alpha.

After much dedicated effort and unwavering perseverance, twelve strong, diverse women emerged as sisters of Lambda Theta Alpha. Joining such a beautiful sisterhood has been challenging yet rewarding and has also had a profound effect on each individual. Through our experiences we've learned what true sisterhood really means. Regardless of the daily struggles of life, tragedies, hard times, and distance that may come between us, our sisterhood is the unseverable current that connects us all to one another.

Beta Eta was established on September 13, 1998 and has the distinction of being the first chapter of Lambda Theta Alpha in Texas. In September of 2008, we celebrated our ten year anniversary, and guided by the ideals and standards of Lambda Theta Alpha, we continue to strive to affect positive changes at Texas A&M and in the surrounding community.
